Dear All
Following the success of our move to Catton Park in 2007, the BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair will once again take place at Catton Park, Walton On Trent, South Derbyshire, DE12 8LN, on the 12th and 13th April 2008.
We are extremely grateful to Robin and Katie Neilson in allowing us to return to the elegant surroundings of Catton Park. Catton has been in the hands of the same family since 1405 and the present Hall, built in 1745, is the home of the Neilson family. Now that we are into the 20th year of this event and the Centenary Year for BASC, with the improvements made last year, we are sure that we will maintain our reputation of being a unique Fair. The BASC Gamekeepers’ Fair is always a special event and gives an opportunity for ‘keepers, members, families and the general public from all over the country to meet, exchange news and order goods!
2008 will again feature The Lichfield Trophy and various gundog competitions will be held over the two days. There will be Clay Pigeon competitions, Muzzle Loading and an Air Rifle range. BASC shotgun coaches will be there to provide tuition for all levels of experience and BASC staff will be available to offer advice on issues such as Firearms and Game Meat Hygiene regulations and training.
Catering facilities will once again be provided by Neville Symonds Associates and we will also have an Antiques’ Marquee for you to browse.
The main ring events will commence at 09:30 am each day and it is hoped to have something of interest to everyone, including old favourites such as the Falconry and Ferret displays. Side events such as the old traditional fairground should keep the children happy!
We would remind everyone that dogs should not be left in cars at any time. Dogs are welcome on site provided they are on leads.
We look forward to your continued support and a great show in 2008 at Catton Park.
Yours faithfully Event Organiser
