More than 300 air cadets from all over Merseyside and the Isle of Man tried clay shooting for the first time recently thanks to BASC and Promatic traps.
The cadets were given clay shooting lessons by BASC shotgun coaches at the annual Merseyside adventure training event at Nesscliffe Army Training camp near Shrewsbury.
BASC firearms officer Alan Booth, who helped set up the day, said: “The Commandant was very enthusiastic about clay shooting after his lesson and he is now looking towards making this one of the Corps sports. Most of the cadets who tried clay shooting want to do it again as it was a really enjoyable experience.”
The cadets swapped their berets for BASC baseball caps during their time on the clay line.
