BASC SPORTING SHOTGUN SHOOTING SCHOOL & BASC SAFE SHOT

WOULD YOU BENEFIT FROM SOME EXPERT TUITION?

The BASC Shotgun Coaching School is designed to offer an opportunity for those who already shoot, or those who feel they would like to try, by taking advantage of some expert tuition. £15 gives you a coaching lesson from a qualified coach, covering safe gun handling, correct stance, gun fit, gun mount and how to hit a moving target. The fee includes the cost of cartridges, clay targets, eye and ear protection, the loan of a shotgun and shooting vest.

If you have your own shotgun with you and are experiencing problems with gun fit then please come along to the coaching school and have a chat with our coaches. Young Shots £8.

Safe Shot is a BASC award that recognises your knowledge of shotgun safetly and your safe gun handling. It shows others that you are safe using a shotgun. Safe Shot is not a competence test.

To be awarded the Safe Shot badge you need to successfully complete 3 sections. A short multiple choice question paper on safety. An empty gun handling question, including getting over an obstacle. In a shooting cage, prove that you can load and fire the gun safely at a clay target.

All it will cost is about 20 minutes of your time and £5.

The 40 bird sporting clay shoot has been added to, with categories just for BASC members – so do remember to bring your membership card! Top lady BASC member will win the Barbara Hardy Trophy, top junior BASC member the Mike Hardy Trophy and top gun (in the BASC members’ shoot) will win the W R Hardy Trophy. The top BASC gamekeeper member will win the Hoggs of Fife Trophy.
