It has become apparent within BASC that there is a real lack of deer stalking opportunities for members who wish to take up stalking and an inability for others to get any form of practical experience. BASC currently has three stalking schemes in operation - one with Forest Enterprise in Thetford, one in Thirlmere and one on the Isle of Arran. The Association has decided to try to make available more stalking opportunity for members because of the increase of interest and popularity of deer stalking within the UK.
BASC Deer Management Scheme Arran
The Arran Deer Management scheme is open to all BASC members (who are in possession of their own stalking rifle) and is suited to both novice or experienced stalkers.
BASC Thirlmere Stalking Scheme
The BASC Deer Management scheme is open to all BASC members and is especially suited for novice or inexperienced stalkers. The scheme is designed to provide practical follow on training for those who have completed the Deer Stalking Certificate Level1.
BASC/Forest Enterprise Deer Management Scheme King's Forest
The BASC/Forestry Commission Deer Management scheme is open to all BASC members and the scheme is designed to provide practical experience for stalkers of all levels of experience and ability.
