Firearms Awareness Course (Rifle)

The aim of this course is to equip the candidate with the knowledge, understanding, skills and awareness required to undertake basic rifle shooting.  It is an ideal course aimed at the beginner or novice shot to improve shooting skills.  

This is a one day course which will provide the novice or less experienced rifle shot with a sturdy foundation of knowledge. There is no requirement for you to have a Firearms Certificate or your own rifle. Safety, law and technique will be dealt with in a classroom situation moving on to the range for the practical aspects which will deal with shooting positions and rifle technique. The course will offer the candidate plenty of time on the range using both .22 rim-fire and centre-fire rifles. BASC club rifles are available and ammunition will be provided. In order to use BASC rifles you’ll need to enrol as a member of the BASC rifle club please find a form attached. You may of course bring your own rifles if you do please bring with you your current FAC.

Firearms Awareness Course (Air Rifle)

The aim of this course is to equip the candidate with the knowledge, understanding, skills and awareness required to undertake basic air rifle shooting.  It is an ideal course aimed at the beginner or novice shot to improve shooting skills.  

This is a one day course which will provide the novice or less experienced air rifle shot with a sturdy foundation of knowledge. There is no requirement for you to have your own rifle. Safety, law and technique will be dealt with in a classroom situation moving on to the range for the practical aspects which will deal with shooting positions and rifle technique. The course will offer the candidate plenty of time on the range using both spring and precharged air rifles. BASC club rifles are available and pellets will be provided. In order to use BASC rifles you’ll need to enrol as a member of the BASC rifle club please find a form attached. You may of course bring your own rifles if you do please bring with you your current FAC if it is a FAC rated air rifle.

Firearms Awareness Course (Shotgun)

The aim of this course is to equip the candidate with the knowledge, understanding, skills and awareness required to undertake basic shotgun shooting.  It is an ideal course aimed at the beginner or novice shot to improve shooting skills. 

This is a one day course which will provide the novice or less experienced shotgun shot with a sturdy foundation of knowledge. There is no requirement for you to have your own shotgun. Safety, law and technique will be dealt with in a classroom situation moving on to the range for the practical aspects which will deal with shooting positions and shotgun technique. The course will offer the candidate plenty of time on the range using a variety of shotgun types.  You may of course bring your own shotgun(s) if you do please bring with you your current shotgun certificate.
