This year we will have shotgun and air rifle coaching. Gundog scurries and the BASC main stand which includes Game & Cider Tasting, The Marksman Shooting Simulator, Wildfowlers Row, Gunsmith, Decoying, artists and much much more
The highlight of the weekend will be the Sportsmans Challenge. The challenge will be held on the acclaimed Marksman Shooting Simulator and on the BASC air rifle lay out. The competition will consist of a 25 clay sporting layout, 10 random grouse and 10 shots on the new innovative Promatic Sharp Shooter System. The combined best score over the three disciplines will win a BASC perpetual trophy.
Gundog Scurries
We will be running 5 gundog scurries this year - Bulldog, Ducks Down, 2 In a Pen and Fastest Dog in the West - the fastest dog over both days on this scurry will be crowned as champion and will win £100 Chudleys Dog Food vouchers. The new scurry this year will be Over the Barrels which is kindly sponsored by Gaymers Cider Company.
For the first time at the Westcountry Game Fair BASC will be running a 'Hurry'. The Hurry is similar to a scurry and will test the dogs speed, control and obedience but will be open to any dog who is not a working gundog. It is an ideal chance for those who have not tried a scurry before to see how their dog performs.
There will be 2 gundog tests, one for Spaniels and one for Retrievers. The tests will be judged by renowned Gundog Trainers Martin Love and Martin Harris who run the Gundog Training Classes for BASC during the summer.
The scurries will be £2 each to enter and the tests £5 each
