With over 25,000 members within the boundaries of England’s largest region, the northern team is well placed to provide a comprehensive and effective service to our members through two strategically placed offices at Gisburn in Lancashire and Dallam in Cumbria.
Each year we provide more than 300 places on our Young Shots’ activity days and improvers’ days, as well as offering shooting opportunities for ladies and access to a wide-ranging programme of training courses for deerstalkers, gundog owners, wildfowlers and game shooters.
There is also the provision of day-to-day help and advice on all shooting related issues to ensure we continue to safeguard the future of shooting.
BASC represents shooting interests to the regional media and maintains close contact with the political scene in the region. With a high proportion of clubs and syndicates in the area we maintain close links with these important shooting groups and ensure their interests are represented on a wide range of issues.
With a great deal of support from within the region, the team raises extra funds which we use to support our work programmes to ensure, amongst other things, the continued right to own and use firearms, a healthy quarry population and continued access to shooting in the north of England.
