Visitors to the BASC Northern Roadshow at the Yorkshire Showground on November 12th will be able to apply for a shotgun or firearms certificate at the event, have background checks carried out and receive a decision in principle from the police on the night.

BASC is offering the chance to win a place on a day’s driven game shoot to anyone who has attended one of its Young Shots activity days. Eight places are available on each of two separate days – one in South Yorkshire on 22nd January 2011 and the second in Northumberland on 29th January 2011.

BASC’s Steve Woodhall will be promoting game as part of the BASC presence at the traditional and popular Peover game and angling fair held near Knutsford in Cheshire in August.

BASC Young Shots are being offered two supervised opportunities to shoot game in the North of England next season. They can chose between driven days to be held near Doncaster, South Yorkshire, and Hexham, Northumberland. Mentors will be provided by BASC to ensure all levels of experience are catered for.

The British Association for Shooting & Conservation (BASC) will run a deer carcass handling day, at Grizedale, Cumbria on Sunday 25th April 2010. The day will be spent exploring the necessary skills for the post-mortem handling and inspection of shot deer in line with current Deer Stalking Certificate level 2 requirements. A certificate of attendance will be given to all delegates.
