South East

BASC South East

The south east region was established on the 1st January 2005 to mirror the boundaries of the South East of England Development Agency. BASC membership in the region currently exceeds 22,000 and is steadily increasing year on year. The south east is well known for its sporting shooting and throughout the region there are opportunities to shoot pheasant, partridge, duck, rabbit, pigeon and deer. Kent, east and west Sussex and Hampshire offer wildfowling opportunities on the foreshore.

Clay pigeon shooting is regularly practiced in the region with many clay ground venues in each county. BASC has its own regional team of shotgun coaches who provide training for novice and experienced shooters alike. The UK home of target rifle shooting rifle shooting in the UK is at Bisley, Surrey, which hosts national and international competitions, regular practice opportunities, training courses and participation in club shooting events. We can arrange lane hire for BASC members.

BASC south east aims to provide a public voice for shooting and conservation in the region. To campaign on the issues affecting shooting and conservation in the south east through balanced coverage in the media.  To defend the freedom of private firearms ownership, promote healthy quarry populations and habitats and encourage access to shooting. To raise standards and provide expert advice.

Areas Covered: Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Isle of Wight.
