Age to purchase firearms will rise from 17 to 18 years on 28 July

Photo of gun racks As of 28 July the age at which people may purchase or hire certain firearms or ammunition will be raised from 17 to 18 years of age.   Firearms law will also change as necessary to ensure that adult or parental supervision is applied to under 18 year olds.  These changes are taking place so that UK firearms law complies with European law.
