A group of Dorset Wildfowlers are celebrating after being given a £28,000 boost from the Wildlife Habitat Trust – part of a series of loans totalling almost £170,000 which were made by the organisation in 2009.

BASC has asked for a meeting with the Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice (BCAP) to discuss the lifting of the ban on advertising shooting related activities and businesses on television and radio.

Robert Irvine has been re-elected as chairman of BASC’s council at a meeting following the association’s AGM on 13 June. Mike Sherman was re-elected as vice-chairman. Four new people – Helen Cormack, Michael Smith, Peter Glenser and Alan Balfour – have also been elected to BASC council.
